British shoe salesman, Harry Witherspoon, who normally spends his Friday night taking inventory in the shoe shop, gets a telegram summoning him to a lawyer. He suddenly finds himself the recipient of a $6 million dollar inheritance. Harry learns that an uncle he never met left him a fortune only if he accompany him on his final voyage: to Monte Carlo. Harry reluctantly accepts the challenge and travels to the French Riviera with Uncle Anthony's corpse in a wheelchair. As it turns out, Harry isn't the only one interested in the inheritance, as two women are in hot pursuit of his money. He must contend with a cast of hilarious characters who make him wish for a rest as peaceful as Uncle Anthony's.
